Built by the Berlin-based architects Matthias Karch and Thorsten Labs, the student apartments
are situated in a total of 6 different buildings. The foundation of the student residential
complex is formed by an old building dating from the 19th century, which gives the whole property
its character. Large individual and community residential units have been built here in a manner
that is in keeping with the older edifice. Five new buildings of differing heights characterise
the look of the residential complex behind the old building.
With the AVILA "Edith Stein" student residential complex, a rewarding opportunity has been
created to help meet the demand for adequate accommodation for students. The new residential
complex is close to the historic city centre. All of the university's institutions can be
reached in just a few minutes on foot or by bike, the city's most popular form of transport.
