It is worth highlighting the range of schools and kindergartens in the area which can be
reached in just a few minutes' walk.
These are complemented by the sports venues, which are also in close proximity. On
the opposite side of the road to the Elija house is a new sports hall, with numerous
sports clubs operating here during evening hours.
Approx. 800 metres away is the SEZ sports centre, which offers a great range of sporting
and wellness activities. There are special running paths for joggers in nearby Friedrichshain,
and swimming enthusiasts can train at the modern swimming pool at the Landsberger Allee.
There are numerous good-quality shops in the neighbourhood and in the new area itself,
offering everything you need for daily life. Since March 2010, these shops have been
joined by a specialist retail centre and hypermarket in the Hermann-Blankenstein-Straße.
In the immediate vicinity of this centre, Berlin's largest bike retail store is to be
constructed in a former cattle auction house.
Whether you wish to go to the opera, to museums, to the O²-World, to the nightlife of
Friedrichshain and Prenzlauer Berg, to an adventure playground, or to a park - they
are all just a few minutes away.
